In hopes of filling a void between the Range Rover Evoque and Range Rover Sport, Range Rover is presenting an all-new SUV with the Range Rover Velar.
The vehicle will be officially unveiled in full next week, but for now, we get a glimpse at the intriguing automobile. First off, the name Velar refers to the first Range Rover prototype built back in 1969. “We call the Velar the avant-garde Range Rover,” said Land Rover design boss Gerry McGovern. “It brings a new dimension of glamour, modernity and elegance to the brand. The Range Rover Velar changes everything.” For now, pretty much all that’s highlighted is a large glass roof, but the Velar is also expected to make use of Jaguar Land Rover’s turbocharged four-cylinders and supercharged V6s. A full reveal for the 2018 Range Rover Velar is slated for March 1.
